Our story

Making metal last

Chromatique was founded in 2022 with a simple idea: give manufacturers who need industrial finishing, and individuals who want to bring their wheels or parts back to life, a shop that takes preparation seriously.

Today, powder coating is most of what we do. We also offer sandblasting and chemical cleaning, so your parts are prepared and coated in one place.

The challenge

The customer needed a run of large panels coated blue, fast. Their size went beyond what our standard racks could hold, and the deadline left no room to spare.

Our solution

We designed and built custom hanging racks that keep each panel well clear, with no contact between them. Every panel went through our full process: degreasing, zirconium pretreatment, electrostatic application, then curing in our oven, 9 ft wide, 11 ft deep and 9 ft high, big enough to cure the batch in one go.

The result

The whole order was coated, cured and packed in one working day. Our flexibility and the size of our oven let us meet the rush without cutting corners on preparation.

A multi-coat purple finish on a set of wheels driven all year round. Several winters later, it is still intact.

The challenge

The customer wanted a purple unlike any other, on wheels driven all year in Quebec: road salt, gravel, freeze and thaw.

Our solution

The wheels were prepared and pretreated with zirconium, then coated in several layers: a base coat, then the purple colour, for the depth and shine the customer was after. Each coat goes through the oven. The job was delivered quickly, with no shortcuts on preparation.

The result

After several Quebec winters, the finish still holds. It is the best durability test there is for powder coating, and the quality still shows today.

The challenge

These silver wheels were going on a race car to be shown on track. On a race car, wheels get a close look: the finish has to be even, flawless, and tough enough for stone chips and frequent washing.

Our solution

Each wheel was prepared and pretreated, then coated with a matte bronze powder applied evenly, right into the corners of the spokes. After curing, every wheel was inspected up close before going back to the customer.

The result

The wheels went from their original silver to a deep matte bronze, ready for the track on schedule. Racing, road or show: every part that leaves the shop goes through the same process.
