Terms of service

These terms apply to the powder coating, sandblasting and chemical cleaning services offered by Finition Industrielle Chromatique Inc., doing business as Chromatique Finition Industrielle (“Chromatique”, “we”), and to the use of chromatique.ca. By leaving parts with us or accepting a quote, you accept these terms.

  1. Quotes and prices. Quotes are free and valid for 30 days. They are based on the information and photos you provide. If the parts we receive differ from the description (quantity, size, condition, existing coating), we give you a revised price before starting the work. Prices are in Canadian dollars, before taxes. The minimum order is $350 before taxes. We reply to quote requests in less than 24 hours, on business days.
  2. Turnaround. Standard turnaround is 5 business days from the time we have all the parts and the colour is confirmed. Rush service in 1 to 2 business days is available for a rush fee, when the colour is in stock and subject to our schedule. Large orders, custom colours and multi-coat finishes can take 10 to 15 business days, and a special-order powder can add time. Turnaround times are estimates; we tell you about any delay.
  3. Preparing your parts. Parts must arrive disassembled and free of anything that cannot take the heat of the oven: tires, valves, sensors, bearings, seals, rubber bushings, plastic parts and decals. You must tell us what is on the part now, which areas must not be coated and how the part will be used. We do not disassemble or reassemble parts unless agreed in writing.
  4. Masking. We mask the areas you indicate in writing or on a drawing: threads, mating surfaces, bearing seats, grounding points. Areas that are not indicated will be coated.
  5. Condition of the metal. Blasting and curing can reveal defects the old coating was hiding: corrosion, pitting, cracks, welds, body filler or earlier repairs. Cast parts and some metals can release gas during curing and leave small bubbles in the finish. These defects come from the part, not from our work. If they appear, we tell you and agree with you on what to do next.
  6. Colours and finishes. Colours shown on screen and in catalogues are indicative. Slight variations in shade, gloss or texture are normal from one batch of powder to the next and with the shape of the part, especially for metallic and transparent finishes. The colour is confirmed by name or code before work starts. A powder ordered specially for you is charged as soon as it is ordered.
  7. Payment. Payment in full is due when the parts are picked up or delivered, by credit card, cash or Interac e-Transfer. A business account payable in 30 days can be opened after a credit check, once orders reach the $10,000 threshold before taxes. Business customers with an approved account pay within 30 days of the invoice date. Overdue amounts bear interest at 1.5% per month (18% per year). We may hold the parts until payment is complete.
  8. Pickup, delivery and storage. We notify you by email and text message when your parts are ready. They must be picked up, or their delivery arranged, within 15 days of that notice. On request, we arrange pickup and delivery of parts anywhere in Quebec through our transportation partners, on the terms and at the cost set out in the quote. If you use your own carrier, the parts travel at your risk. After that, a storage fee of $50 per month per invoice applies. Parts not claimed 90 days after the work is finished are considered forgotten; we may then dispose of them as the Civil Code of Québec provides, after giving you written notice.
  9. Warranty on our work. We guarantee the adhesion of the finish for 12 months from pickup. If the finish peels, flakes or blisters under normal use, we redo the work at no charge or, if that is not possible, refund the price paid for the parts concerned. The warranty does not cover impacts, stone chips and scratches; damage from chemicals, acid cleaners or improper installation; defects that come from the metal, as described in section 5; parts modified, welded, bent or recoated after our work; or parts coated, at your request, without the preparation we recommended. Any visible defect must be reported to us within 10 business days of pickup.
  10. Cancellation. You may cancel an order at no charge before work starts, except for specially ordered powder. Once work has started, the work done and the materials used are charged.
  11. Liability. We take care of the parts left with us. For business customers, our liability for a part lost or damaged through our fault is limited to the price of our work on that part, and we are not liable for indirect damages such as lost profits or production delays. This limit does not apply in a case of gross or intentional fault.
  12. Consumers. Nothing in these terms limits the rights and warranties that the Consumer Protection Act and the Civil Code of Québec give to consumers.
  13. Use of the site. The content of the site (text, photos, videos, logo) belongs to Chromatique or its suppliers and may not be reproduced without permission. Information on the site is general and is not a quote.
  14. Governing law. These terms are governed by the laws of Quebec and the federal laws that apply there. Subject to the rights of consumers, any dispute goes to the courts of the judicial district of Montreal. If the French and English versions differ, the French version prevails.
